Bloodborne Pathogens Course
Course Summary:
Target Audience:
In 1991, OSHA issued the Occupational Exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens Standard (29 CFR 1910.1030) to reduce the risk of occupational exposure. This course is based on that OSHA Standard and conveys strong understandings of what bloodborne pathogens are; how they can be transmitted and why they are dangerous. It also conveys proper techniques to reduce the risk of exposure through universal precautions, personal protective equipment and workplace resources. Emergency
techniques for responding to an exposure are emphasized, including guidelines for post-exposure care. This course is approved course for Child Care Providers.
